Here in the Pacific Northwest we love our salmon and I’m always on the lookout for new fresh and easy ways to prepare our beloved fish. This easy recipe is full of scrumptious savory flavors like lemon pepper, garlic, soy sauce which are balanced with the sweetness of brown sugar. Not only is this dish full of flavor but it uses the sugar substitute SPLENDA, making this dish both diabetes-friendly and low calorie! It’s the perfect meal for any night of the week. I recommend serving it atop fresh greens like peppery arugula or with roasted broccolini.
Soy Sauce and Brown Sugar Salmon

Servings Per Recipe: 8
1½ pounds fresh salmon fillets
Lemon pepper to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Salt to taste
⅓ cup soy sauce
⅓ cup SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend
⅓ cup water
¼ cup vegetable oil
Pomegranate seeds and microgreens for garnish, optional
Step 1. Season salmon fillets with lemon pepper, garlic powder, and salt.
Step 2. Combine soy sauce, SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend, water, and vegetable oil until SPLENDA® Brown Sugar Blend is fully dissolved.
Step 3. Place fish in a large re-sealable plastic bag, pour soy sauce mixture over fish, seal, and turn to coat.
Step 4. Marinate for at least 2 hours.
Step 5. Preheat grill for medium heat.
Step 6. Lightly oil grill grate. Place salmon on the preheated grill, and discard marinade.
Step 7. Cook salmon for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Step 8. Alternatively, wrap it in foil and bake at 425° for approximately 15 minutes.
