Buffalo chicken holds a dear place in my culinary heart. I grew up right about where it was invented, and buying a bucket of wings was just something that everyone did. Can you imagine bringing home a bucket of 60 chicken wings, each with the tangy, spicy, finger licking flavor that you dream about? They were just hot enough, and there was always that blue cheese and carrots/celery on the side. I can still taste them.
Recreating that flavor at home isn't easy. The closest I have come is to combine melted butter and Frank's Hot sauce in a bowl, then dress those delectable little wings-hot off the grill. They still can't beat buying a ready to go bucket from Wing Street in NY, but they come close.
Now, check out some of the tastiest buffalo chicken inspired recipes that we could find for you. Not all of them are wings either. You may be surprised to see little appetizer cups, dip, even a mouthwatering vegetarian recipe that has all the flavor and none of the meat. NOM
Think making chicken wings at home is too difficult? No way! The secret is to get the skin nice and crispy. You can do this by baking or our personal favorite; grilling. Grill your wings on medium heat, turning often. Try to get the nice grill marks (meaning flavor) onto each piece. Nothing like a soggy chicken wing to ruin the experience. Once your chicken is all grilled to perfection, take a large bowl with a tight fitting lid or some Press and Seal wrap and put 1/2 a stick of melted butter in the bottom. Add your favorite hot sauce to the butter and then add your wings. Seal and toss to coat.
Simple and tasty. Your family will ask for these yummy bites again and again.
