National Homemade Bread Day is a family favorite on the farm. There is no better scent after working outside all day, than to come in the house to the smell of fresh bread. Once I get going, it's not just loaves of bread either. For some reason, I morph my dough into bagels, loaves, bread sticks and buns. That's the beauty of having a favorite dough recipe and enjoying the process.
Plus, here is a tip: when making bread, make an extra loaf or two and freeze the extra. As long as your wrap it well, you will be able to use your homemade bread without having to go through the effort of making it every time. Slice it and freeze them with wax paper between each slice. They won't stick together and your toast will be better than anything you can buy.
