Quick Bread


A type of bread leavened with chemical agents (such as baking powder, baking soda, or cream of tartar) instead of yeast. These breads generally require no time for rising, making them much faster to prepare than yeast breads. Cakes are considered quick breads, as are zucchini bread, beer bread, cornbread, biscuits, muffins, pancakes, scones, and soda bread.
